Our Mission

The institute will reward those students who show initiative and leadership potential by bringing them to Raleigh for six days of intense leadership directive.
The students will experience the fundamentals of leadership through daily workshops, speakers, interactive seminars and activities, and the completion of individual and group projects.
As a result of the Student Leadership Institute, thirty students will initially be trained in skills that will provide a smooth and successful transition into tomorrow’s workforce.  The students will then take this information back to their respective campuses and share competencies/leadership skills learned with their peers through workshops, meetings and other events.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

North Carolina Community College Student Leadership Institute Surveys indicate that although community college students are well trained in their fields, businesses and industries want more. They are begging colleges to give them a “whole” person to hire...not just one that is well educated and skilled, but one that can communicate effectively, make decisions, and work well with peers. In a word, leaders!

The opportunity exists to enhance the
leadership skills
of our community college students through a hands-on interactive
North Carolina Community College Student Leadership Institute.

By training a few,
we reach many.....
we are
empowering
our
future leaders!
